This tracker was made as part of Udhyam's association with the Saamuhika Shakti project where multiple implementing organisations come together as one collective to enable informal waste pickers in Bengaluru to have greater agency to lead secure and dignified lives, with a specific focus on gender and equity.
Waste Pickers (usually from oppressed castes) are failed by our systems and also by society at large. Udhyam attempts to upskill them through alternate entrepreneurial ventures; this tracker aims to help them keep a track of their daily income, expenses and savings. It also aims to help them take stock of important festivals and events that can aid their entrepreneurial ventures, adding tips on what products to make / keep in stock.

Thoughts : This project taught me that the people in the margins are the most forgotten and ignored group of users in all spheres. Working to design something for them to use - with their faces on the cover - and their needs front and center taught me that most of UX is listening and noticing.
